Original story: 10/27/16
The burial slab of Jesus Christ has been found. Restoration workers stumbled upon the artifact as they worked on The Church of Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The slab has not been seen since 1555 since it was enclosed in the Tomb of Christ in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Following the Crucifixion, Jesus was laid to rest on the slab. After three days, he ascended to Heaven. Centuries later, His followers took the slab in the Tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where it has remained hidden since 1555.
Scientific tests will be conducted on the slab. Scientists will also be able to examine the original form of the Tomb and how it has evolved over the centuries. The slab was encased in marble. Researchers will soon be able to see the actual rock where Christ was laid. The find could be the subject of a National Geographic documentary in future.
